Who is an Optometrist?

Optometry is a healthcare profession that is autonomous, educated, and regulated (licensed/registered), and optometrists are the primary healthcare practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes refraction and dispensing, detection/diagnosis and management of disease in the eye, and the rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system.

  • To ensure and promote interest of its members
  • To start and carry publications of journals, articles, books and other materials.
  • Association also negotiates optometrists' fees represent adequate remuneration for the services provided.
  • Will act as a job center for the members.
  • It will help the members to continue professional education
  • The Association produces a online resource for practice management concerns
  • Association will conduct annual campaigns such as UV Protection, Children's Vision, Good Vision for Life, World Optometry Day and many others.
  • Will try to maintain ongoing relations with other health care fields.
  • The association will publish and supply its members with a range of regular  publications
